About this Simulation
This simulation visualizes fluid convection. Hotter fluid (red) rises, and cooler fluid (blue) sinks due to changes in density from particle vibrations. This creates circulation patterns. Click and drag on the canvas to apply heat locally.
Adjust parameters using the controls panel (toggle with the icon). Press 'F' to toggle the FPS display. Use the fullscreen icon () for an immersive view.
Controls:
- Speed: Adjusts the simulation rate.
- Heating Radius: Controls the size of the area affected when you apply heat with the mouse.
- Heat Intensity: Determines how much energy is added when heating.
- Surface Cooling: Adjusts the rate at which the fluid at the top surface cools down.
- Simulation Size: Changes the dimensions of the simulation grid. Larger sizes may impact performance.
The simulation solves a simplified version of the Navier-Stokes equations for fluid dynamics. Temperature differences cause buoyancy effects and fluid motion.
